Dear Mayor Driscoll and Mr. Thomson:
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection,Northeast Regional Office, Bureau of Waste
Prevention, Solid Waste Management Section ("MassDEP")has reviewed your request to extend the date
for the submission of the additional information requested by MassDEP in our letter dated July 13, 2010,
for the modification of the existing construction and demolition handling facility(Salem Transfer Station)
located on Swampscott Road in Salem, Massachusetts(the"Facility"). The request was submitted to the
MassDEP on your behalf by Green Seal Environmental; Inc. of Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts("GSE")
by letter, dated April 10, 2014. The extension is requested to allow additional time to resolve several
pending legal issues associated with the facility.
The MassDEP approves the requested extension of 90 days. The additional information is now required
to be submitted to MassDEP no later than July 10, 2014. Please provide the MassDEP a monthly update
on your progress to meet this new submittal deadline.
