permit) scheme.
Recommendation
At its August 22, 2018 meeting, the DRB voted unanimously (7-0) to approve the blade
sign and A frame sign for Vampfangs at 244 Essex street as submitted.
Proposal
The applicant is proposing to install at 35" by 29" blade sign on an existing bracket,
window graphics, and a freestanding A-frame sign for their retail space located at 244
Essex Street. The applicant has provided fonts, dimensions, and colors, the proposed
signage.
Enclosed are a sign permit application and sign designs that includes specifications and
renderings.
Staff Comments:
All proposed signage complies with the sign ordinance and that the bottom of the blade
sign is at least 8 ft above grade, as required in the Urban Renewal District. The
applicant has also provided a diagram indicating that there's ample space to have an A-
frame in front of their business.

We are proposing to add a blade sign, window graphics, and portable sign at our newly leased retail
location at 244 Essex Street.
All signage will be modern and clean, using only black and white as colors, and will include the
Vampfangs logo and graphic. All of the specs for the proposed signs are included on the summary
document. All signs will be installed and utilized in accordance with all applicable regulations and
ordinances.
One thing of note is that the insurance requirements for the signage that we provided is under the name
of Iron Raven, Inc. As the parent company of Vampfangs, LLC, Iron Raven, Inc. is the policyholder for
each of its subsidiaries.
