This building is at the corner of Canal and Washington Streets. One side of the
building fronts on Canal Street;one side fronts on Washington Street;and a third
side fronts on an alley or drive(not a public way)between Canal Street and Pond
Street. Signage currently exists at these three sides of the building.
*Signage is not typically allowed on sides of buildings that do not front on a public
way. However,the building frontage on Washington and Canal Streets allows for 70
square feet of signage, more than is proposed for all three signs.
Under this proposal,the three existing, rectangular building signs will be replaced by
smaller signs with the new Verizon logo in internally illuinated channel letters.The
