RE: 10-12 Lynde Street-Basement Stairs
Dear John,
Thank you for meeting with me recently to view the plans for 10-12 Lynde Street. I understand
that the owners are pursuing historic tax credits for this project and that the proposed plans must
comply with the Secretary of Interior's Standards.
As we discussed, the new stairs accessing the lower level (basement level) of units 1 and 2 will
need a minimum width of 36 inches. I understand that in order for the new ,36 inch wide, stairs
to be located under the Historic front stairs, the walls enclosing the new stairs will need to be set
approximately 4 inches onto the front stair hall.
Following review of the plans I have determined that they comply with the requirement for the
36 inch wide stairs. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any further
assistance as the project advances.
