CORPORATION
Worldwide Leadership in Passive Wastewater TreatmentlDisposal and Pre -Fabricated Geotextile Drainage Systems
June 2006
Dear Septic Professional,
The Eljen GSF Geotextile Sand Filter is now approved in Massachusetts at a 40% sizing reduction.
High-performance sand filters can present significant challenges. They often involve complicated, large-scale designs.
Inspection and monitoring can be difficult and time-consuming. Concerns over performance and environmental
impact make strict maintenance and ongoing -maintenance contracts a necessity. For property owners, these intricate
systems can be demanding and costly.
To address these challenges, Eljen Corporation has developed the GSF Geotextile Sand Filter. The Eljen GSF
provides regulators, engineers, installers and property owners with a high-performance, easy -to -maintain and
cost-efficient solution for sand filter systems. Here are just some of the benefits:
Environmental, Inspection and Maintenance Benefits:
• The GSF is the only sand filter technology that pre -treats effluent with a patented, two-stage Bio-MattTM
filtration process for reliable long-term performance.
• Operation and maintenance is streamlined; maintenance contracts are not required.
• The GSF system's uncomplicated installation is easy to inspect and monitor.
• Long-term leaching capacity is 2 to 3 times that of a conventional system, which reduces the risk of failure
and protects the environment.
• Best of all for property owners, the GSF offers lasting performance at a significantly lower overall cost than
other sand filter options.
Optimal Performance and Design Flexibility:
• The GSF's exclusive interwoven fabric provides advanced treatment in up to 50% less space, and the
cuspated core delivers 90% void space for optimal soil/effluent interface and effluent storage capacity.
• GSF systems are so straightforward that design time is considerably reduced.
• The small footprint and adaptable form of the unit provides superior design flexibility.
• Ideal for mound or in -ground systems, level or sloped sites, and trench or bed layouts.
• Made from lightweight, recycled material, the GSF is engineered for superior strength.
For specific product features and design examples, please review the reverse side of this sheet.
There are over 50,000 Eljen systems operating in the United States with a proven track record of success since
1985. The Eljen GSF Geotextile Sand Filter is now approved in Massachusetts at a 40% sizing reduction.
