OBSERVATIONS:
This report follows a site visit to observe/test the earthwork for: Footing trench excavation.
Foundation backfilling was performed within the eastern limits of building 1. The backfill
material used is the more select material generated form perimeter/interior footing excavation within
the SSE limits of building #1. The material generally consists of F - M sand, and gravel, trace silt.
12 - 18" thick lifts were placed and graded utilizing the Deere 75 excavator. Each lift was compacted
employing several passes of coverage utilizing the Wacker ½ ton plate compactor exhibiting stable/firm
conditions. Use of this material was discontinued because the material transitioned to common fill
rather than structural fill due to the presence of greater silt content and some loamy/organic
constituent. Work in this area was temporarily abandoned.
Placement and grading of slab base course materials was performed within the Amenity space of
building 2. The majority of base course material was previously placed within this area. Minor amounts
of material was placed and graded on this date utilizing the Deere mini excavator and skid loader. This
material is ½" reprocessed material from the Caruso pit in Revere, MA. The material was fine graded and
briefly compacted on this date utilizing the Wacker ½ ton plate compactor exhibiting stable/firm
conditions. Work in this area remained incomplete on this date.
Drainage utilities were installed @ the north side of building 1. CB 16 was installed and
connected to previously installed DMH 15 with 12" diameter HDPE. The Structures were set atop an
approximate 12" thick base of ¾" crushed stone. The HDPE piping was also bedded and covered in ¾"
crushed stone. The Shallow utility was backfilled using the same common fill generated during
