1926-PLANNING BOARD A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held at City Hall on Monday, December 20, 1926, at 7.45 o 'clock P. M. All. the members were present except Mr. Webber .,and Mr. Gray. The Chairman presided. Mr. Pitman offered -the following suggestions for problems to study during the year 1927 : Extending and Widening Streets Sewall Street, Norman Street, Central Street, Essex Street Specialist - to make recommendations to City Council Proposed Park opposite St. Mary's Church Preservation of Antiquities By zoning (voluntary) By organization Hawthorne 's birthplace; Witch House; Richard Derby House Waterfront Proposition Derby Wharf Filling. Collins Cove and Palmers Cove Waterfront boulevard lublic meeting (with Chamber of Commerce ) Building lines Assessment of Betterments Recommendations on desirable widths of streets (Existing and future ) New Plan for proposed improvements in central part of city with estimated costs �- Solution of Traffic Problem question of Joining Metropolitan Planning Board On motion of Mr. wiswall, it was voted to request the Mayor for an appropriation for the making of a study of the central part of. the city with reference to the solution of the traffic problem.
