RE: 93 Washington Street-Replacement City Hall,Hours and Welcome Signage
Ms.Newhall-Smith&DRB/SRA Board Members,
Honorable board members and Madam Planner please find the attached documentation for the request put
forth to you for approval of the replacement of the existing City Hall `Hours' and `Welcome' signage that
flank the main entry door at 93 Washington Street(Attachment 1, 2 and 3). The two(2)-existing signs
are approximately twelve inches by nineteen inches (12"x 19), and constructed of an oak material flat
stock material and trimmed with an oak band molding. The lettering is vinyl in material and the color is
gold, laid over the urethane finished oak material. The signage is blind surface mounted to the granite
fagade of the building, and mounted to the left and right sides of the entry doors facing Washington
Street.
Based on direction and input provided by the Design Review Board at the March 27, 2019 meeting the
following revised proposal is submitted for your review. The two(2)-proposed replacement signs
requested will again be set in the same locations, and with the existing anchoring plates. It is again the
City's request that the material be altered from the existing oak wood material to a polyvinyl chloride
(PVC)material (Yee sample). As suggested by Board both signs will be the same gweeft-color of the
`wayfinding' signage in the City(Attachment 4).The signs will maintain the approximate square footage
of 1.5833 square feet, and approximate dimensions of twelve inches (12') in width and nineteen inches
(19') in height, lettering will be white vinyl in script lettering similar to the way fording signage
(Attachment S).
