Plate Compactors, CAT 980 & 950 Loaders & IR Pro Pac 110 Series 10 ton Drum Roller TEST METHOD:Sand Cone Nuclear Densometer TITLE:Inspector Staff Engineer EngineerX OBSERVATIONS: This report follows a site visit to observe/test the earthwork for: Footing trench excavation. Installation of drainage utilities were installed @ the north side of building 1. CB #4 was installed on this date. The structure was set atop an approximately 12" thick base of ¾" crushed stone. CB #4 and CB #5 were connected to DMH 3. The 12" diameter HDPE piping was installed and bedded in ¾" crushed stone. The shallow utilities were backfilled using the imported processed gravel structural fill. The backfill was compacted utilizing the Wacker ½ ton plate compactor exhibiting stable/firm conditions. Installation of gas main utilities continued. The trench was carried down to design elevation utilizing the Deere excavator. A base of clean imported sand was placed at the bottom of the excavation. The fused plastic gas piping and tracer were installed by national grid. The piping was bedded and covered in clean imported sand. Tape was used over the sand. The shallow trench was backfilled using the same gravel generated during excavation. The surface of the trench was compacted utilizing the Wacker plate compactor exhibiting stable/firm conditions. Plumbing utility trench excavation was initiated within the limits of building 2. The trench was carried down to design elevation utilizing the Deere mini excavator. The structural fill gravel overburden was segregated from the the urban common fill generated during excavation. The common fill was removed from the building.
