There is no current Building Permit on file for this address. Lack of a permit is a violation of the Massachusetts State Building Code. See below: 780 CMR Massachsetts State Building Code SECTION 105 PERMITS 105.1 Required. It shall be unlawful to construct, reconstruct, alter, repair, remove or demolish a building or structure; or to change the use or occupancy of a building or structure; or to install or alter any equipment for which provision is made or the installation of which is regulated by this code without first filing an application with the building official and obtaining the required permit. A "STOP WORK ORDER"was hand delivered to your contractor, Ilidio Valente Jr. on 10/12/16, and posted, by the Salem Building Department, at 52 Winthrop Street on October 12, 2016. All work at this location must cease immediately and remain stopped until the Building Department has been satisfied that proper construction permits have been applied for, and issued to, appropriately licensed personnel. No work may be undertaken without written approval from the Salem Building Department.
