Pickering Wharf Salem, Ma. 01970 RE: Enclosed stairway, Pickering Wharf Unit 74-B Dear Owner: On Thursday, June 21, I met with your manager Justin to inspect the above mentioned stairway. This department has received a complaint from a tenant of your property alleging the stairway did not meet code and had improper lighting. I did not find this to be evident, but did notice the stairway structure is starting to pull away from the building. It would appear that the lower portion, close to the ground is suffering from rot or other damage. Discussing this problem with Justin, he agreed that some access to the structure would need to be made to enable an accurate assessment of the problems. When this is completed, please forward your findings to this department with your plan to correct the problem Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation. Sincerely, Thomas St. Pierre Local Building Inspector
