The pad preparation work included: removal of unsuitable materials from within the zone of influence of the future foundations, preparation of the natural soil and rock subgrades, and placement of compacted structural rock fill to form the pad. Our observations of the work have been documented in daily field reports Nos. 1 through 10 dated 7 through 27 November 1996. In our opinion, the work observed by Haley & Aldrich, Inc. was conducted in accordance with acceptable construction practices and the requirements of the current Massachusetts State Building Code, and the structural fill pad is suitable for support of the proposed building.
