Redevelopment Authority Decision 155 Washington Street Adriatic Restaurant Meeting Date: January 9, 2019 Members Present: Gary Barrett, David Guarino, Dean Rubin Members Absent: Grace Napolitano, Russell Vickers Decision: At a regular meeting of the Salem Redevelopment Authority(SRA), upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to approve the proposed seasonal vestibule at the Adriatic Restaurant, 155 Washington Street subject to the conditions listed herein. Referenced Plans and Documents 1. Application package prepared by Atlantic Awning, 270 Franklin Street, Melrose, MA 02176 that includes the following documents: `Proposed Awning', `Notes`, and 'Door Jam Composite'. 2. DRB Recommendation dated 11/28/18, recommending approval of the design subject to the 'window extension' condition listed herein. 3. Staff Comments dated 11/28/18. Conditions of Approval 1. Consistency with Approved Desiq n/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the vestibule may not be constructed and/or installed according to the approved plans and subject to the conditions herein, he/she/they shall return to the SRA to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the field. 2. Window Extension: The base of the front window to the left of the vestibule door(as viewed from the exterior/public way) shall be extended downward to match the base of the left side window. Procedural History 1. The applicant attended the 11/28/18 DRB meeting where the Board reviewed and approved the proposed seasonal, temporary vestibule. Upon deliberation the Board determined that an appropriate design modification would be to extend the window to the left of the vestibule door(as viewed from the public way) downwards to match the base of the left side window. 2. The SRA reviewed the proposal, including the DRB recommendation and staff comments, at its 1/9/19 meeting and determined that the proposed project, as conditioned, is consistent with the design principles, goals, and criteria as found in the Salem Downtown Renewal Plan, as amended.
