The complaints were investigated on Thursday, May 22, 2012, said property was found to be in violation of Massachusetts State Building Code requirements. Conditions that have been deemed to be insufficient; I- Exit Stairways, Section 1020.1 - "an exit shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with its function as a means of egress"Exit stairways can have no chairs, televisions, boxes, trash etc. or be used for storage of objects at any time as was the situation and noted at the time of inspection. 2- Interior basement stair is in disrepair and unsafe. This failure to maintain a required means of egress violates Section 116.1 through 116.3of the eighth edition of the Mass Building Code with Mass amendments. Repair or replacement of stair is required. 3- Exterior wood and synthetic entry stair at front left of building, deck boards spacing is to wide. Repair or replacement ofstair is required. 5- Gypsum drywall needs to be installed various locations 3rd floor attic area. 6- Handrails, Section 1012—Stairways handrails are missing and incorrectly secured at 2nd to third floor levels in Second Floor unit.
