After researching the records in this office it has been determined
that the property located at 288-290 Washington St./3 Porter Street Court
is zoned for multi-family use (R-3) and that the two buildings on one lot
have been in existence since prior to 1965 and are considered grandfathered
making them lawful nonconforming structures. The lot would also be
considered a lawful nonconforming lot. Any changes to the status quo would
require action from the City of Salem Board of Appeal .
