PETER STROUT, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROPERTY MAYOR November 6, 2001 DRY Realty Trust David Pretti, Jr. Ralph DiSimone Tr. 319 Broadway Revere, Ma. 02151 RE: 284 Washington St. Dear Owner: I was called to your property to look at a heating system problem. According to Boston Gas, an illegal blower vent was added by your basement tenant. This created a carbon monoxide danger and keyspan locked of the device. Your basement, tenant, Carl Ducey, has no licenses and therefore is performing work illegally. You are directed to hire a licensed gas technician to repair the heating unit and to have it inspected before turning the unit back on. Furthermore, you are aware that your cellar tenant should not be there. This was established the last time you were in court with this property. Because you have blatantly ignored our order to vacate the basement, you will be fined for both a City of Salem Zoning Violation of State Building Code daily until you comply. Also, the exterior of the property has unregistered vehicles (Salem Ordinance 24-21) and you have failed to clean up all the debris from the previous actions. Again, you will be cited for every day of non-compliance. If you wish to appeal any of the orders, contact this office immediately. Sincerely, Thomas St. Pierre Local Building Inspector cc: Mayors Office Health Department Fire Prevention Councillor Driscoll
