the detectors in the basement were operable. Also there were no carbon monoxide detectors present.
The rooming of four or more unrelated people constitutes a rooming house. This is a violation of State
Law and Salem Zoning Ordinance.
I am revoking the occupancy permit for the first floor unit and directing you to secure the apartment
during the evening and ovemite hours as directed in the condemnation order issued by the Health
Department. As soon as the apartment is cleaned up,working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are
installed and inspected, a list of no more than three unrelated individuals who are supposed to be residing
there is produced and a certificate of Fitness is obtained from Salem Board of Health, you may apply to
reinstate the occupancy permit. If you have any questions, cotact me directly. If you feel you are aggrievd
by this order, your appeal is to the Board of Buildings ,Regulations and Standards in Boston.
