Under the provisions of M.G.L.c.148, s.26G1/2, 4"paragraph, your facility may be used as a
nightclub, dance hall, discotheque, or similar entertainment purposes on a temporary basis
without the need to install an adequate system of automatic sprinklers under this section.
Temporary use is allowed only if a permit is issued for such use by the head of the fire
department in consultation with the building inspector. The terms and conditions of the permit are
at the discretion of the head of the fire department who will set the terms and conditions to protect
the public against fire and preserve safety.

Thank you for the additional information as requested. I have spoken with Tom St Pierre, the city
building inspector, and provided him with the information we have on file regarding this event.
The fire detail: One officer and two firefighters should be scheduled for 30 minutes prior to the
event for familiarization and 30 minutes after the event for a final walk through. Please consider
this your permit to hold the above-mentioned event.
Restriction: No open flames or lit candles
No smoking
Please have your event manager available at the start of the detail to show the firefighters the
layout of e spaces being used and at the same time please provide them with a roster of your
staffth will be on duty for the event.
