This letter is to request a zoning interpretation with regard to the addition of a Doggie Day Camp facility as a permitted use
at the PETSMARTstore as referenced above. PETsMART currently operates approximately 700 stores in North America
with annual sales exceeding $3 billion dollars and employs over 22,000 associates. Founded in 1987, PETsMART is the
leading worldwide operator of retail stores specializing in the sale of small pets, pet food, supplies, accessories, veterinary
care,pet grooming,training,and boarding services.
j The vision of PETsMART is to be the preferred provider for the lifetime needs of pets. In this respect, PETsMART provides
the total lifetime needs of pets such as adoption, nutrition, health care, shelter, and proper pet and owner education. In
lieu of selling docs or cats at its stores, each PETsMART location donates a portion of its store to be used by the local
animal protective agencies for the adoption of pets. This is an ongoing endeavor to end euthanasia of unwanted pets.

Currently, the PEfsMAR7 store is 21,448 square fee[of Gross Floor Area consisting of approximately 16,444 square feet
of retail sales area, a veterinary health clinic containing approximately 1,763 square feet, a grooming facility of
j approximately 985 square feet, and a training area of approximately 336 square feet. The remaining area of the store is
for offices, storage, and facility support. If permitted. PETsMART would reconfigure the store to Include a Doggie Day
Camp facility containing approximately 2,10are feet. No change to the existing store footprint is required to
accommodate the Doggie Day Camp.
j Doggia Day Camp represents yet another revolutionary new service being offered by PETsMART incidental to the retail
store operation. Doggie Day Camp offers play, exercise and socialization for dogs in one of our climate-controlled
playrooms along with other dogs and PETsMART safety-certified associates. Camp is available during canceled store
j hours, currently F7londay-Friday from 7am-7pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm. Pet parents can purchase a full day er half-
day of play for their dog. Dogs will occasionally be kenneled in the event a pet needs to take a "timeout" or other break
from the playrooms. The Doggie Day Camp accommodates a maximum of 70 dogs. The building design and
operations incorporate measures to eliminate any nuisance caused by sound, odor and/or pet waste. There are
no outdoor activities or pet runs associated with the Doggie Day Camp operations.
The PETsMART Veterinary Clinic is a high quality, full service veterinary care facility located within the PETsMART store
and operated by our Benfield licensed affiliate.The clinic is operated by properly licensed professionals and offers primarily
outpatient care, routine examinations and vaccinations, pharmacy, dental care, and most surgical procedures. All medical
waste is properly contained and handled by experienced qualified operators in accordance with established policies and
local regulations. Boarding or keeping of pets is not offered by the Veterinary Clinic as a service, however, an overnight
stay may be required in an emergency situation or for the safety of a pet.
PETsMART is the nation's largest provider of professional pet grooming. The Grooming Department offers consistent
quality and service to pets during regular store hours. The PETsMART Training Department offers basic puppy to adult
obedience servk*s, teaching appropriate behaviors with the goal that pets will stay with their families for their lifetime of
caring.
