located in a R-1 residential district , which does not
permit any businesses . if you are conducting a business
at 10 Sumner Street , you must cease & desist doing so at
once . If you are parking trucks for the purpose of
towing , this is also illegal in an R-1 residential area
per Article V, Section 5-1 ( c ) of the City of Salem Zoning
Ordinance which reads :
( c ) The term 'use of land" shall include the
interpretation which shall include the restriction that
the land cannot be used for storage or overnight parking
of motor vehicles , including trucks , tractors , trailers ,
except as exempted by section 7-1 , unless the "permitted
use" for buildings in the district allows such parking for
the storage of commercial motor vehicles .
