Design Review Board Proposal November 17, 2010 157 Washington Street (Passage to India): Discussion of proposed signage DRB Recommendation At their meeting on November 17, 2010, the DRB voted to recommend approval of the proposed signage at 157 Washington Street with the following condition: - The sign proposal, including window signage, shall be revised and be reviewed and approved by Glenn Kennedy prior to SRA final action; Staff Comment The blade sign was removed and the three panel signs have been reduced in size and now conform to sign area limits. Glenn Kennedy Original Proposal The proposal consists of one blade sign and three wall signs. The blade sign is 15" x 30" (3.13 sf) and the three wall signs are all 28" x 78" (15.2 sf each). The signs are made from aluminum and have a red background with gold leaf lettering. One wall sign includes an Internet address. Internet addresses have not been approved for wall signs. The signage has been installed; however, the sign proposal does not comply with City or SRA guidelines and modifications are required. The total sign area is 63.8 sf which exceeds the permitted area of 53 sf by 10.8 sf. Note: The business has a portable sign; however, it is not included in this proposal.
