SRA DECISION:
At their meeting on May 9, 2007,the SRA voted to approve the DRB
Recommendation for the proposed signage for Eastern Bank at 125 Washington
Street with the conditions presented.
DRB RECOMMENDATION:
At their meeting on April 25, 2007, the DRB recommended approval of the
proposed signage with the condition that visible damage under existing signs will be
repaired in a manner consistent with the historic nature of the building, such that no
previous installation holes in the facade are noticeable.
PROPOSAL:
The proposal includes the installation of three signs at 125 Washington Street. The
proposed signs will replace three existing Eastern Bank signs approved by the SRA
in 1994. One sign will be located above the main entry and will match the
dimensions of the existing sign, 52" by 84."The proposal also includes replacing two
small signs located on each side of the main entry. The proposed signs are 15" by
30"and replace existing 24" by 20" signs. These signs will be centered on the
location of the existing signs. All signs will be black with bronze lettering.

10 Front Street (Beadworks) — Review of signage
PROPOSAL:
The proposal includes the installation of one blade sign hung above the 10 Front
Street entry, at a right angle to the building. The proposed sign is 5.75" by 30"with
a 5"in diameter bead hung from the bottom of the sign. The sign will be carved
wood, painted blue with a red border and gold leaf lettering. The hanging bead will
be red with gold details. The sign will be hung from an existing wrought iron bracket.

118 Washington Street (Gulu Gulu Cafe) — Review of signage, lighting and
exterior improvements
PROPOSAL:
The proposal includes the installation of two signs, one along Lappin Park (facing
Washington Street) and one along Essex Street. The sign along Lappin Park will be a
10'x T wall sign placed in the existing signboard. The sign along Essex Street will
be a 34" x 52" hanging sign. Both signs will be gold with black lettering.
The applicant is also proposing to light the signs as detailed in the attached proposal.
The applicant is also proposing to install two wood benches along Essex Street. The
benches are 35" tall,45"wide and 25" deep.
The applicant is also planning on putting a set of planters in the cafe area (see
attached specifications).
