83 Washington Street (Melita Fiore Cakes): Discussion of proposed signage
SRA Decision
At their meeting on April 10, 2013, the SRA voted to approve the March 27, 2013
DRB recommendation for the proposed signage and door color at 83 Washington
Street.
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on March 27, 2013, the DRB voted to recommend approval of
the sign application, with the following comments:
- The Gold/silver frame brought to the meeting shall be used for the
projecting sign
- The hanging sign should say Melita Fiore with Patisserie in smaller
typeface
- Window decals with store products
- Wall sign should say Patisserie
- Glen Kennedy to work with applicant to incorporate these comments
Staff Comment
As the time of sending out these packets, Glenn Kennedy was continuing to work
with the applicant. A final design will be brought to the meeting.
The storefront is permitted 20 sq.ft. of signage. The current proposal is for 12.86
sq.ft, not including the window decals.
The signs comply with SRA and Sign Ordinance guidelines.
Proposal for March 27 DRB Meeting
The submittal, dated March 15, 2013, includes a surface sign and a blade sign.
The surface sign includes 10" plastic letters mounted to the brick with 3" studs.
The letters are the color black in Times New Roman font. Wording to say "Melita
Fiore Patisserie"
The blade sign is 27k36".The background is white with black letters and antique
gold leaf detail. It will be hung from the existing bracket by S-hooks. Wording to
say "Melita Fiore Bakery"
