proposed signage
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on October 28, 2009, the DRB voted to recommend approval of
the proposal with the following conditions:
- The letter size shall be reduced to 10"
- The sign shall be centered and the tracking adjucted.
Proposal
The revised proposal consists of 10" black letters installed on the 15" sign band.
The signs comply with City and SRA guidelines.
Staff Comment
The SRA and DRB conceptually reviewed building signage during the review and
approval process for the exterior improvements to the building. The SRA
approval indicated that individual businesses would need to return to the SRA for
approval of their signs. The proposed signage is consistent with the previously
presented concept.

for Batten Bros., Inc to furnish and install one (1) set of 12" tall formed plastic, non-
illuminated letters in Times New Roman Typeface spelling "SALEM FIVE
RETIREMENT SERVICES' to match Batten Bros., Inc's drawing dated 07/02/09.
This type of lettering was approved by the Design Review Board per the letter drafted
by H.H. Morant Architects to the Salem Redevelopment Board, Attn: Kirsten Kinzer
dated July 27, 2007 for the SRA meeting on August 8, 2007.
