Dear Members of the Design Review Board:
I am applying for two portable A-frames, one at the front entrance of my business (26 Front
Street) and the other at the rear entrance of my business (legal address 15 Derby Square).
Both signs are exactly the same size, 2' x 3' and are inserted in a black weighted metal frame for
stability.
I have attached a flyer and rack card with this letter to show you the exact color and lettering of
the signs. These colors are incorporated in all aspects of my business--inside colors, kids'table
outside, purple and yellow flowers outside my business, the purple and gold right-angle sign
(which was approved by the SRA and Design Review Board 9 years ago), and all my advertising
(including Destination Salem, Best Maps guide, guest book at Hawthorne Hotel, rack cards at
Salem Witch Museum and other Salem advertising venues). This exact sign has been in front of
my store for the past 7 years.
The fonts used in the sign are tekton bold (top line of sign), university (the top ten list) and
brush script (Maria's Sweet Somethings).
I have enclosed pictures where the sign is now located. I am fortunate to have a very wide
sidewalk in front of my business (20' 4"from front door to street and 20' 3" wide, where tables
and chairs and an ice cream sundae statue are located (also all approved by the SRA and DRB
nine years ago).
My business has its own front and rear entrance. The other businesses in the building use
different entrances.
