281 Essex Street (Coven): Discussion and vote on proposed signage
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on February 24, 2010, the DRB voted to recommend approval of
the proposed blade sign at 281 Essex Street with the following conditions:
- The sign bracket shall be changed to match the adjacent one at "Get in
Shape for Women";
- The lettering shall be adjusted and reviewed by a DRB member;
- The rolling pin shall be cream color; and
- The window decal shall be revised and resubmitted for review at a future
DRB meeting.
Staff Comment
The applicant has revised the proposal to conform to the DRB conditions.
Proposal
The proposal consists of a blade sign and a window decal. The blade sign has an
oval shape and is white with red and black lettering and is 24" x 36". The sign
includes a three-dimensional rolling pin. The window decal is 57" x 48".
The signs comply with City and SRA guidelines.
