SRA Decision
At their meeting on August 14, 2013, the SRA voted to approve the July 24, 2013
DRB recommendation one building, window, and a-frame/portable sign at 131-1
Essex Street, #1 as proposed without further comment.
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on July 24, 2013, the DRB voted to recommend approval of the
proposed signage, on condition that the A-Frame sign be black.
Staff Comment
The applicant revised her proposal to reflect the DRB's request. The applicant also
verbally agreed to be in compliance with the issues marked "T' on the below chart.
Proposal for July 24 DRB Meeting
The applicant proposes to erect an aluminum 14" x 75" (7.29 sq/ft) building sign
above her storefront. The sign will be black, with gold script reading "The Marble
Faun" — underneath in smaller text: "Books & Gifts." White/off-white vinyl lettering will
be centered on the left-hand storefront window reading the same as above 8" x 24".
The applicant also seeks to have a white vinyl portable "A-Frame" sign placed
outside of her storefront. See attached mock-up and below:
