Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find enclosed my application for a permanent sign at 121 Essex Street.We bought
McSwiggan's Pub back in September of 2006.At the time we attached a temporary plastic sign to
get through the landlord's construction phase of the floors above.There was also some concern
that the landlord would be attaching awnings when the construction was done.It was for this
reason that we held off putting our application for"painted lettering"directly on the front of the
building as we were afraid it would be covered by an awning.We have recently been notified by
the landlord that they will not be going with an awning. We are hoping that you may take this
hardship into consideration when reviewing our application as we would like to get our sign up as
soon as possible to feel more like a permanent business. We will use the existing lights(nothing
extra needed).The lettering will be done in gold leaf with a black outline. "THE OLD SPOT"
letters will be 16-18"high in Americana Font.The Sustenance"and "Libation"letters will be
12"high in Amazon Font.I have included samples of both fonts in the correct letter size and
color sample of both my fagade and letter colors. My sign company will need only 811. ladders to
execute this design and are more than willing to schedule this work on an early Monday or
Tuesday morning when there is less foot traffic. If you have any questions or need any further
