Since the sign has been removed, and is no longer over a public way or sidewalk, there is no need for a surety bond to save harmless the City from any potential liability claims. Therefore, the City no longer requires a$1,000 surety bond for your building located at 60 Essex Street. Please be advised that if you decide to replace the sign,you will be required to file for a sign permit and must submit a new$1,000 surety bond with the City Clerk. Because of the nature ofi the sign, I was required to post a bond of$1,000.00. I have since removed that sip gn and I am requesting a letter stating that a bond is no longer required.
