We would like to replace the the top of the sign with an internally lit plastic sign and replace the bottom letter board with a trade mark sign. Our sign proposal will reduce the actual size of the current existing sign by about 13%and eliminate the letter board. As per the city's sign code we realize it does not allow for us to have the top part of the sign internally lit. Recently on Highland Avenue, Dunkin Donut and Blue Canoe gas station erected internally lit signs, and the trade mark sign we wish to put up constitutes 75%of our sales and service work without which we would not be able to stay in business. Rent-All is one of the first businesses seen when entering the city through this corridor. This sign proposal doesn't quite fit the city guide lines, yet it is a marked improvement over what is currently seen when entering the city. Although we understand the city's concern about the entrance corridor. Our proposed signed would completely be dwarfed by the obnoxious 28' x48' bill boards which are seen along the entrance corridor. We hope that you will look favorably on our sign permit. Our funds are very tight and this proposal will allow us to use existing signs that are already owned by Rent-All and will also improve the look to anyone entering the city.
