Re: Illegal Signage at 75 Canal Street
To Whom It May Concern:
It has come to my attention that signage was recently installed on your establishment at 75
Canal Street (Creeden's Transmission). The Salem Sign Ordinance requires all signs to be
reviewed and approved prior to their installation. In addition, your property is located in an
Entrance Corridor and must comply with the Entrance Corridor Overlay District
Ordinance. Because no permit was issued for your signage all the signs on your
establishment are illegal signs.
At this time, you are directed to submit the enclosed Salem Sign Permit Application with all
the required submittal information for review and approval with this department within 14
days receipt of this letter, or we will forward this matter to the Building Commissioner who
may enforce the penalties and fines under Sec 3.36, Sec 3.29 of the Salem Sign Ordinance
and 780 CMR Sec 3102.4 of the Building State Code.
Should you have any question about this matter please contact me directly at (978) 745-9595
ext 311.
