Plans describing the work proposed, have been submitted to the Inspector of Buildings in accordance with Section IX A.1 of the Zoning Ordinance. Petitioner has maintained an office for the practice of psychiatry at his residence on 335 Essex Street, Salem, during the past five years. He proposes to purchase the locus property for the purpose of maintaining his office within three rooms and renting the remainder of the property as a single family unit. The petitioner would propose to maintai. the following office house, viz: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday, except Wednesda from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The office would be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Cn eb A r ti y The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to vary the terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance ,¢ac,CteecAlat{®ccxN7&xQa3cx6cxEmcm�taxa�Cx&uk3c:3iS8xxlCu apganrexghax�onc�eecapea:mymc�oobex&bdcxfvllpdc, as the enforcement of said Zoning By-Laws =dcnOndecwould involve practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship to the Undersigned and relief may be granted without substantially dero- gating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning Ordinance amoidia&gx8sde for the following reasons: Approximately five years ago, the petitioner applied for and obtained from the Board of Appeals a Special Permit which allowed him to maintain a professional office for his practice of psychiatry at his present address. The petitioner is a sole practitioner who does not require or use a secretary. Due to the growth of his family, he would propose to discontinue his present office which is needed for additional family space. The locus property contains adequate parking space for two possibly three vehicles to be used only by tenant and patients. it is respectfully submitted that the proposed use is quiet and inconspicuous and will not result in any adverse effect nor in any way be detrimental to the neighborhood and is, therefore, in harmony with the intent and purpose of the zoning ordinance.
