Munroe March 19, 1986 One Salem Green 745-0213 1 f Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Palleschi 3 Bradlee Avenue Swampscott, MA 01907 RE: Violations Massachusettes General Laws and the City of Salem Zoning Ordinance Dear Mr. & Mrs. Palleschi: In response to numerous complaints, this office has investigated allegations that property owned by you, located at 50-52 Roslyn. Street, Salem, is presently being used as a lodging house. Based on this investigation- these complaints have proved valid. 1 . Chapter 140 Section 22 of the Massachusetts General Laws defines a lodging house as a house where lodings are let to four (4) or more persons not within the second degree of kindred. Four (4) or more persons requires that a license be obtained from the City Licensing Board. 2. Lodging houses are not a use permitted by right in a Residential Two (2) Family Zoning District. 3. Each of the four (4) dwelling units are presently occupied by four (4) persons. 4. This property is currently not licensed by the licensing authority. 5• Department records do not indicate that the necessary "Special Permit" has been obtained from the Zoning Board of Appeal to allow this use. In view of the above you are ordered to contact this office within seven (7) ° days of your receipt of this notice with an exceptable arrangement to bring the property into compliance.
