NOTICE OF DENIAL OF APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
On Wednesday, July 11, 1984 the Salem Historical Commission voted 9 to
0 to deny the application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for shed
construction at 12 South Pine Street. This vote was based on the Com-
mission's finding that this building would be incongruous to the historic
aspects and architectural characteristics of the surroundings and of the
McIntire Historic District. In this finding the Commission considered
the architectural design and materials of the building (shed) and rela-
tion of such features to similar features of buildings and structures
in the surrounding area.
