Members of the Board- RECEIVED JUN 0 7 2006 Re: 6 North Pine Street DEPT.OF PLANNING d Roof Replacement COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Regarding the remaining request for the use of"Architectural Shingles", unfortunately I could not be present tonight however I did want to provide you with the following information. I may have perhaps misspoke in representing what we wanted to do by referring them to "Architectural Shingles" since I have learned that this encompasses a broad array of shingling that may incorporate bold design features. This is not what we are seeking to do. The shingle we are proposing is a thicker shingle that is currently used throughout the historic district. Enclosed please find photographs for a number of homes in the district, which presently have the same shingle (they are labeled on the back regarding the specific streets). Additionally the following addresses incorporate these shingles although I do not have pictures of them. Thank you for your continued assistance in this matter. f3°I 133, (6l Sincerely yours, RICK GRUND 617 10 634 vXu T +c G n pNINS Salem Historical Commission ONE SALEM GREEN,SALEM,MASSACHUSETTS 01970 (978)745-9595 EXT.311 FAX(978)740-0404 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed: ❑ Construction ❑ Moving ❑ Reconstruction X Alteration ❑ Demolition ❑ Painting ❑ Signage ❑ Other work as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L.
