Removal of right stairway on rear right porch. Replace with an
extension of the existing porch as per plans . Change rail systems
to 2 x 4 rail will ballasters, 6" OC.
Extend decking of rear left porch 2 feet over driveway. To be
cantilevered as per revised sketch submitted 2/17/90 . Additional
lattice to be installed as per drawing.

Dear Mr. Gianoulis:
It was nice to speak with you today and I was very pleased
to hear that you are willing to keep the brackets under the
eaves of your roof. I also would like to commend you and your
contractor for keeping the window trim intact as you put up
the siding.
Your house is one of the few of its style and age on Lafayette
St. You may have heard that the Fire of 1914 destroyed everything
on Lafayette down to Holly and Leach leaving only a few houses
such as your's standing. The house is a particularly attractive one
and its details, such as the brackets, are what make it unique.
By preserving such details intact, you are not only maintaining
a beautiful home for all of Salem to enjoy, but also preserving
its monetary value.
I have enclosed some information on the history of your house.
Again, it was nice to speak with you.
