Patricia Kelleher From: Mary Pax Lenney <paxlenney@comcast.net> Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2016 12:17 PM To: Patricia Kelleher Subject: Clarification of extent of work Attachments: 19 Flint St soffitjpg Patti, After talking with consultants and the painter, it is clear that we need to include the soffit area in the painting work that I proposed in my application of Non-Applicability for roof work at 19 Flint St. Because we will have staging set up, this is the best time to paint the soffits. See attached photo. As before, we want the end result to look just like it does now; we are just clarifying the extent of trim to be painted. We will use the same paint color as specified in the original application. Can I just submit this request to you via email or should I submit a more formal clarification? The plank siding on the left side of the front of the house needs to be repaired. Some of the planks are pulling away from the structure allowing water to leak in- others are showing signs of significant insect damage. Contrary to our initial assessment, these repairs are now u>dent. The pace of destruction appears to have increased dramatically and we are particularly worried abdt!'t the level of water damage to the underlying structure. Our plan is to replace the necessary planks with in-kind materials and then paint to match the existing color of the house(Color: Behr Peppergrass N350-6). Ed Bruenjes Fine Carpentry and Remodeling has agreed to handle this work for us. We are about to start the previously approved repair work on the mansard roof and dormers which will be handled by Kidney& Co. Given the height of our house,Kidney&Co has graciously agreed to make their staging available for Ed Bruenjes to do his work. However,Ed is still investigating the extent of the sidingjob and while is is hopeful, his timing may not match that of the roof repairs in which case he would need to make alternative arrangements for staging and/or ladders. Obviously, we are not happy to discover the need for yet another significant repair job,but we hope to mitigate both the time and cost of these projects by handling them simultaneously rather than sequentially.
