The specification on the web page you sent me says "vinyl clad", so because it is a change in the exterior material (from wood to vinyl clad), unfortunately it can only be reviewed thru an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by the board at a meeting. The proposed also says Low E, not clear glass, which may have a tint to it. Single glaze is likely what you have now(a single pane of glass). Double glaze would be 2 panes of glass and, with Low E windows,the Low E coatings are enclosed between the sheets of glass. 5/30/2012 If you apply for exact replacement of what you have now-wood exterior, single glaze, clear glass - they cannot deny your application for Non-applicability. My suggestion to look into repair of the existing windows first, look into sash replacement second and then look into full replacement last still stands. In your comparison, suppose it would not hurt to include one clad window. Should you decide that you want to go before the Commission, you can present an option for both the wood and clad window and see what happens.
