Please be advised that revised window guidelines have been drafted and are
awaiting final approval by the Salem Historical Commission. The draft is available
for viewing at the Salem Planning Department.
The Commission has previously approved applications for the following
windows:
Pella Windows (1-800-698-6889) - The Architect Series with 7/8"
profile, single or double glaze, available in tilt sash. Note: Pella
cannot do just sash replacement on a non-Pella window.
- Wes Pine Millwork (1-617-878-2102) - Yankee Spirit (without the
exterior storms) with Single Strength B, Type 1 transparent, flat,
Class 1 clear glass, single glaze
- J. B. Sash - Do not have the model name yet. Was recently approved
for a house in an historic district which is owned by Peter Copelas
(owner of Peter's Laundry on Boston Street) . It is a wood window with
vinyl exterior mullions.

Construct a new fence (1) to extend along the rear property
line, (2) to form a trash container enclosure, and (3) to
surround the steps to the basement. The fence will be
constructed of 1 x 8 spruce boards spaced 3/4" apart with a
fence cap moulding (Brosco 48246) , and will be either 4 '-0"
or 6'-0" high along the property line and around the trash
enclosure, and 4'-0" around the rear stairs. The fence
will be painted the trim color, Pittsfield Buff.
3. NEW REAR LIGHTS
Add two light fixtures on the rear wall of the building,
one next to the back door, and a second just inside the
