The denial was based on the proposed material not being historically appropriate and that the Commission found no hardship exists to justify the installation of vinyl siding as there are other more appropriate alternatives available. Upon inspection the following were noted: -a couple of small pieces of asbestos containing siding shingles were noted on the sides of the building. -numerous shingles still attached are damaged. Please note every owner shall maintain all asbestos material in good repair, and free from any defects including, but not limited to, holes, cracks tears or any looseness which may allow the release of asbestos dust, or any powdered crumbled or pulverized asbestos material. Corrections shall be made in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Environmental Protection.
