Thanks, John.
As we discussed, since Tyvek will be needed no matter what siding is put on, you can go
ahead and install the Tyvek. I will have the commission continue your application to the
October 3rd meeting. In the meantime, I will ask Jessica, David and/or Larry to stop by
and take look. Jessica and Larry go by daily so if they see you outside, they might
stop by to chat with you.
If you want to discuss paint colors at the Oct. 3 meeting, please get your application in
by tomorrow.

Jane,
Here is a copy of the email I tried sending you on 9/8
-- ---- ----------------------------------------
I just finished getting the asbestos siding removed from the house.
While I am glad it is gone, we found an unfortunate situation underneath. Not cedar
shingles like we were told (someone had used cedar planks in one particular spot and that
happened to be where the asbestos guy checked, hence the confusion) , instead there is
asphalt shingles. . . green ones. In addition there are spots where there are just boards;
it really does not look very good.
I am telling you this to keep the comission in the loop, but also because it turns out
that on September 19 (which is when I believe the meeting is) I have to go to Arkansas for
business. which means I would have to wait until the October meeting to sit with the
comission. I£ at all possible we would like to get this resolved this Fall. Is there any
way we could get approval for whatever acceptable siding options there are before October?
If not approval, could we at least know what acceptable options are? In that case we could
schedule work to be done shortly after the October meeting. We are trying to get funds and
construction schedule all lined up as soon as we can so any information that we can get
will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I have also attached the updated photos of the house. So let me know when the next meeting
date is and I will try to get all of this other stuff taken care of by then. Thanks .

Dear Mr. and Ms. Crawford:
On December 6, 2011, you were mailed a copy of the Salem s Historic Districts brochure
which provides a description of the areas covered by the Salem Historical Commission and a
