Staff Comments: The applicant is seeking to replace the existing 3-tab asphalt shingles currently on the gable roof of the entry portico with a new standing seam copper. A similar style house at 15 Chestnut Street currently has an older metal roof(see photo on following page) although it does not appear to be copper. In April,the Commission approved the installation of copper roofs at.he Phillips House at 34 Chestnut Street to replace original tin roofs.
