I meant to say earlier that Harry Wagg had told me that the 5-foot rule wouldn't apply to a trellis such as this, which is essentially an extension of the fence. Thus I'll reduce my application to a mere trellis/privacy screen, with orthogonal lattice, similar in height, width, and placement to the elevation drawing already provided. I"I follow up with a new drawing over the weekend. I don't know if this simplification will still merit a site visit on Monday evening, but IT remain available-all are still welcome. Ultimately, ARBORTEV is oil-based, easy to clean up with soap and water and is environmentally friendly. Cedartone Bar Harbor ARBORTEX'" allows us to more than double the time that ' Gray our display buildings can stay on display looking new. After seeing the results and being contacted by major stain manufacturers and distributors about our formula, we have Antique, Redwood decided to keep our formula and offer it to our customers Green directly so that we can control the quality and keep a O moderate price. A Little Bit About ARBORTEV Wood Sealer & Federal White Stain: ARBORTEX" was originally developed by Post Blue Woodworking, Inc., to keep our display buildings in good condition year after year. After trying all of the top brands of sealer and stain on the market, we found that we had to restain every year: we could not find one that would give us Sandstone Brick Red long-lasting results. We wanted a stain that was a sealer and stain in one, would be able to make water bead, would have an exceptional ability to protect against ultraviolet light, would have an outstanding ability to inhibit mildew, would be easy to use, would be oil based for the best quality, yet,at the same time, must be easy to clean up with soap and water. Finally, we wanted a product that was environmentally friendly. Next, we hired a chemist and after three years of 09 research and development we created the ARBORTEV I ' 1 Wood Sealer & Stain formula. The best protection for your I I / Post Woodworking Shed is Post Woodworking's own specially-formulated ARBORTEX" Wood Sealer & Sta_n. Feroce 10 Chestnut Street Salem t uvirungl L16P L Salem,Massachusetts 01970 August 8, 1994 Salem Historical Commission One Salem Green Salem, Massachusetts 01970 Gentlemen: In re:The Application of Mr . John Donoghue , 6 Cambridge Street to install a fence along his property line on Cambridge Street and his property line as it abuts 10 Chestnut Street on our north side . As Mr . Donoghue has taken the lead to install a fence on our property line, where none 'has never existed , he is entitled to select the height. We would prefer the high respect the height of our fence on Chestnut Street. The Commission mandated that the height equal that of the iron fence on top of the brick wall . The top of the fence would be about the height of his window sills . Some how a fence that is four feet high seems out of place to the three fences to which it joins . The third fence being that of 331 Essex Street (assuming they replace their fence on Mr . Donoghue' s west side . If the 4 ' height is approved , the fence should taper down from the adjoining fences to the desired height . The treatment of space on Camridge Street (some 27 inches) should clearly respect the fence height and should be of similar design to our fence, or should look like his stained slat fence. If Mr .cDonoghue chose the stained slat fence, it would define the begining and end of his property as visually would make sense. He could fill the gap with a short fence bewteen two Posts. He is welcomed to abut his fence next to our white post, if he tapers the fence along his southerly side, he may place it on our property attaching it to our corner post . He %a may also place the finished side toward his house . Sincere you s , Alan T. Howe & Joseph P.
