a Replace all windows with new Pella Architect Series double-glazed wood windows with 7/8"mtmtins
Staff Comments:
The applicant received approval last year to restore the exterior of this house and paint in a new color scheme.As part of that project,the
applicant requested and received approval to replace three kitchen windows at the rear comer of the house with new Pella.Architect Series
windows.These windows are partially visible from Lynn Street(see photo 2). The applicant sought approval to remove one chimney and
replace basement windows but the request was denied by the Commission. Instead,the applicant had basement windows replicated with true-
divided single-glazed wood hopper windows.

The applicant is now seeking to replace all remaining single-glazed windows on the first and second stories with Pella Architect double-glazed
wood windows.This,xindow model is included in the Commission's Guidelines for approved double-glazed windows with the requirement
that windows have 7/8"muntins and btonze spacers. This model was installed at 53 Summer Street and has been approved for the Hawthorne
Hotel.
The windows at 12 Aniover Street(2/2 wood,true-divided)are not original and likely date from the late 1970s/1980s although there is no
certificate on file for these windows. I£approved,the new replacement windows would remain primed until next spring when they would be
painted Benjamin nloare"Kendall Chatcoal"to match the existing color of the trim,window and stomt door.If approved,the new
replacement windows should replicate all dimensions of the existing sash frames and glaz_ag.
