Re: Structural Safety Concern
Mr. Szymanski:
The Building Department has noted advanced structural decay in the two-story porch attached
to your house at 32 Putnam Street.
The porches, in their current condition,pose a threat to the safety of residents and visitors of the
building.
Upon receipt of this letter,you must immediately provide barriers to ensure that the porches can
not be accessed from inside the house or from the exterior yard.
Going forward, the porches must be removed or re-built. A Building Permit will be required in
either case. This work must be accomplished by September 1", 2015.
You must contact the Building Department-within 5 days of receiving this letter- in order to
discuss your plan of action.
Failure to resolve the issues cited above will be construed as non-compliance and may result in the issue of
Municipal Tickets and Fines, as well as further enforcement actions.
If you feel you are aggrieved by this order, you have the right to appeal to the Massachusetts Board of
Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) at One Ashburton Place/Boston/MA.
