Dear Sir;
On March 15,2005 I was called to this address to do a final inspection for the second floor addition
project. During the course of this inspection I observed that this space contains a full kitchen, this kitchen
was not represented on the floor plan that was submitted during the permitting process. The second floor
also has two independent egress ways, and two electric meters have been installed on the outside of the
house. This arrangement causes the second floor space to be considered as a second unit, located within an
R-1 zone. A second unit in this zoning area is only allowed by a variance granted by the Zoning Board of
Appeal. As such relief from normal zoning for this property has neither been requested nor granted,this
now becomes an illegal unit.
Due to these conditions it will not be possible for this office to sign off on this project. You are
encouraged to seek zoning relief from the Zoning Board of Appeal for this property and project. If you
secure this relief we will be happy in the future to sign off on this project. If you have any questions
regarding this matter you may contact the Building Office at City Hall.
Sincerely,
r
