Dear Mr. Munroe:
Please be advised that I have examined various documentation
relative to the use of the above-described premises as a two-family
dwelling. I have examined several letters from persons with direct
knowledge of the dwelling and I have examined various census
documentation.
Based on my review of the documentation, it is my opinion that
this dwelling was a lawful two-family residence prior to the adoption
of the City' s Zoning Ordinance in 1965. It is my opinion that this
dwelling should be afforded the protection of Section VIII (E) of the
aforementioned ordinance relative to non-conforming uses and this
dwelling' s current use as a two-family dwelling is permissible.

I Lori A. Silva purchased my home at One Purchase Street in 1987 as a two Family home.
At the time of my purchase the 1st unit was being rented to Miss Margaret Tanner
who had lived there for approximately 38,vears and paid rent.
Miss Tanner has since moved out and the rental unit is presently being rented to
Mr. Donald J. Crimes Jr.
When I purchased my home it was represented to me as a two family home and I had
No reason to believe it was anything other than this because it did have two aas
meters and two electric meters.
