RE: 35 Proctor Street
Dear Mr. Eisen:
Due to a complaint from the Neighborhood Task Force, I conducted an inspection of the
exterior of your property located at 35 Proctor Street on May 7, 1999, and the following
problems were noted;
1. The vinyl siding never completed.
2. Railing on porches missing.
3. Bulkhead missing.
4. Roofing never completed.
5. Chimney in need of repair.
All permits pulled are now expired. State Building Code 780 CMR, Section 103.1 states
that all building and structures and all part thereof, shall be maintained in a safe,
operable and sanitary condition.
Therefore, you are directed to obtain necessary permits and begin repairs within thirty
(30) days and work should be completed within sixty (60) days.
Failure to comply with this order will result in legal action being taken against you in
Salem District Court.
If you wish to appeal this order, you may refer to 780 CMR of the State Building Code,
Section 122.1.

Dear Sir:
It has come to our attention that there is no guard
rail or hand rail on the front steps at the referenced property.
The building code requires that all egress stairs and porches
more than thirty (30) inches above grade shall have guard rails
not less than thirty-six (36) inches in height.
You are hereby requested to correct this violation
immediately and to advise this office when the work has been
completed.
Very truly yours,
Daniel F. Mansur
Asst. Building Inspector
