Since July 3, 2002 the City of Salem has been aware of serious violations of the electrical and plumbing codes of the City of Salem by the owner of Unit 1 at 44 Prince Street, Salem, Massachusetts owned or occupied by Victor Cabreja. Based upon a review of the city's file it does not appear that the City of Salem has so far caused Mr. Cabreja to comply with the applicable safety codes. This letter is to request that your department take any and all steps necessary to immediately cause Mr. Cabreja to bring his unit and the common areas of the condominium into compliance with the codes. My client is very concerned that a failure to take action could lead to her and her sister who occupy her apartment suffering serious bodily injury or death. If there is any reason why your department cannot fulfill this role kindly notify me at once. Thank you. Very truly yours, y Roy F. Gelineau RFG/ggc cc: client Mayor Stanley J. Usovicz, Jr.
