Dear Owner,
On Saturday,October 6"', I was called to your property by the Salem Fire Department. Salem Fire had responded
to an incident involving an individual that had fallen through the interior stairway.
I was asked by Captain.Levasseur. to take a look at the rest of the building.My Inspection noted the following
Code items that need to be repaired.
#1 Front Porch—Decking and railings need to repaired or replaced.' 30 days
#2 Front Hallway. Electrical permit needed to clean up wiring and sheetrock needs to installed over the bare
studs.15 days.
#3 Front Hall Tread needs to be replaced. As discussed,you took care of this the day of the event.Just needs to
be inspected.
#4 Smoke detectors. As discussed smoke detectors were installed the day of the incident. Salem Fire Prevention
needs to confirm inspection'
#5 All materials ,furniture and misc. items need to be removed from front and rear hallways ..Egress hallways
are to be used solely for egress,not storage. Immediately
Building permits need to be secured and inspections conducted to be in compliance.
Failure to comply with these orders will result in Municipal Code ticket5s and further enforcement actions.
If you feel you are aggrieved by this order,your appeal is to the Board of Buildings,Regulations and Standards
in Boston.
